Trustworthy, Energy-Aware federated DAta Lakes along the computing continuum
TEADAL, a groundbreaking Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Action, pioneers the development of essential technologies to create expansive data lakes that seamlessly stretch across the cloud-edge continuum and multi-cloud environments. These advanced data lake technologies ensure privacy, confidentiality, and energy-efficient data management, enabling trusted, verifiable, and energy-conscious data flows both within a single data lake and across a federation of them, all without the need for intermediaries. TEADAL achieves this through a unified approach to defining, enforcing, and tracking privacy and confidentiality requirements, while balancing the imperative of energy reduction.
Martel plays a crucial role as an expert technical partner, driving energy-aware data management, contributing to relevant open-source initiatives, and developing policy definition tools for managing data use. Through TEADAL, Martel explores enhancements to its IoT platform, Orchestra Cities, particularly in cloud-edge automation and privacy-enhanced data flows. Additionally, Martel leads dissemination and communication efforts, ensuring broad outreach and maximizing the impact of the project’s innovative outcomes.
