FLUIDOS (Flexible, scaLable, secUre, and decentralIseD Operating System) delivers a fluid, dynamic, scalable, and trustworthy computing continuum that seamlessly spans across devices, unifying edge and cloud with energy efficiency at its core. By leveraging the enormous, untapped processing capacity at the edge—distributed across heterogeneous devices that currently struggle to integrate—FLUIDOS aims to create a seamless computing continuum.
The project builds on robust operating systems, advanced orchestration solutions, resource sharing, AI-driven cost and energy optimization, and a zero-trust paradigm to foster an open, collaborative ecosystem. This ecosystem is focused on developing a multistakeholder market for edge services and applications, promoting European digital autonomy. Through pilots and demonstrators in agriculture, energy, and logistics, the project actively engages stakeholders, testing its adaptability to diverse environments and operating conditions, and showcasing its true innovative potential.
Martel Netherlands takes the lead in communication and dissemination, playing a crucial role in project management.
