Earth Observation & Weather Data Federation With AI Embeddings
Embed2Scale is poised to unlock the full potential of the Copernicus Programme by leveraging AI-driven data compression to transform the exchange of vast geospatial information. This initiative pioneers compressed embeddings, enabling faster access, decentralized applications, and accelerated analytics in four key areas: maritime awareness, aboveground biomass estimation, climate and air pollution prediction, and crop stress and early yield detection. Martel Netherlands coordinates the project and spearheads communication and dissemination efforts.
Meanwhile, the CoGNETs project focuses on developing an intelligent IoT-to-Cloud computing continuum using dynamic swarms of autonomous devices. By integrating game theory, collaborative federated learning, and end-to-end security, CoGNETs aims to optimize the balance between computing power, energy efficiency, and security. This will pave the way for efficient, secure, and responsive AI-driven services across sectors like manufacturing, mobility, and health.
Martel takes the lead on ethics, data management, and dissemination, ensuring that the technology aligns with societal values and ethical standards.
The Embed2Scale project started in January 2024 and runs for 36 months.
