A Multi-Pillar Framework to address childhood obesity
BIO-STREAMS tackles the pressing issue of underage obesity in the European Union. With obesity rates soaring to epidemic levels in recent decades, especially among children, the situation is becoming increasingly dire. The impact on young people includes not only psychological distress but also heightened risks for chronic diseases. In response, BIO-STREAMS unites 30 partners from 15 EU countries, blending data-driven research, proactive prevention strategies, and active community involvement. This innovative initiative aims to create a comprehensive approach to significantly reduce obesity rates among children and adolescents.
Martel participates in BIO-STREAMS by leading and implementing the communication, dissemination and community building activities.
This 4 year project began in May 2023.
