Martel is excited to announce the participation of FLUIDOS and TaRDIS in the upcoming IoT Day Webinar & Roundtable 2025 on April 9, 2025, titled Latest Research Results in IoT Supply Chain Security to ensure Compliance with the CRA.This collaborative event will unite seven Horizon Europe initiatives—FLUIDOS, TaRDIS, DOSS, EMERALD, ReSCALE, CERTIFY and TELEMETRY—to address some of the most pressing challenges in IoT security, cloud-edge orchestration, and supply chain resilience.

This large-scale collaboration underscores the growing need for interoperable, secure, and future-proof IoT infrastructures. By bringing together cutting-edge projects that cover various aspects of the cloud-edge continuum, IoT trustworthiness, and cybersecurity, the event will serve as a key opportunity to exchange knowledge and align efforts toward a more resilient digital landscape in Europe.

A Joint Effort for a Secure and Scalable IoT Future

As IoT adoption accelerates across industries, ensuring security, compliance, and scalability remains a critical challenge. The European Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) aims to enforce stricter security requirements on connected devices, making compliance a top priority for stakeholders in the cloud-edge-IoT continuum.

This webinar provides a unique opportunity for Horizon Europe projects to:

  • align research efforts to ensure that future IoT solutions comply with evolving European regulations like the CRA,
  • exchange insights on securing the computing continuum and strengthening supply chain security,
  • demonstrate technologies that will play a vital role in the next-generation IoT and Edge infrastructures.

By collaborating, the projects create synergies that extend beyond individual research goals. The knowledge-sharing in this session will help bridge the gap between academic research, industry needs, and regulatory compliance, accelerating the development of secure, decentralised, and AI-driven IoT solutions.

Martel’s Contribution: FLUIDOS & TaRDIS

FLUIDOS will present the “Fluidification of Computing Resources & Securing the Supply Chain”, delivered by Albert Seubers, Director of Martel Innovate NL and Project Coordinator of FLUIDOS, who will be addressing challenges in computing continuum orchestration and how security frameworks can enhance trust across IoT deployments.

FLUIDOS is an innovative Meta-Operating System (MetaOS) designed to enable fluid, dynamic and decentralized computing across the cloud-edge continuum. By leveraging intent-based workload orchestration, FLUIDOS enhances security, efficiency, and adaptability, ensuring seamless resource management and trust in distributed computing environments.

TaRDIS, through an exploration “Towards Trustworthy IoT and Edge Infrastructures”, will provide insights into trusted AI solutions and ensure data integrity in distributed environments.

TaRDIS project’s primary goal is to significantly ease the complexity and reduce the effort of building correct and efficient heterogeneous swarms. In doing so, TaRDIS focuses on supporting the correct and efficient development of applications for swarms and decentralised distributed systems, by combining a novel programming paradigm with a toolbox for supporting the development and execution of applications.

The roundtable discussion will foster a critical exchange between research projects, industry, and policy stakeholders, ensuring that the projects contribute to shaping a more robust, secure, and compliant IoT landscape in Europe.
